New feature: how to change the default notification sound on iPhone – Hi-Tech Mail.ru

We’ve waited! Apple has allowed you to change the default notification sound on your iPhone, here’s how to do it.

iPhone users have discovered a long-awaited feature in the fourth beta of iOS 17.2 that has been missing since the introduction of the iPhone. This also includes setting the default message sound.

Previously, iPhone users could only change the notification sound of the Messages, Mail, Calendar, and Answering Machine apps. To this day, iPhone owners have not been able to customize the sound of notifications that will come from most third-party applications. In iOS 17.2 you can configure the sound like this:

Go to Settings > Sounds & Haptics > Default Notifications. Choose a sound from those offered.

The user can also set a vibration to occur every time a notification arrives. This is useful for those who constantly leave their iPhone in silent mode.

The iOS 17.2 beta 4 update is available in the beta channel under General > Software Update > Beta Updates. The final version of iOS 17.2 will be released in December 2023.

In addition to the new setting, iOS 17.2 will include the ability to create collaborative playlists in Apple Music, new Weather and Clock widgets, a Diary application, and automatic hiding of naked body parts in photos in contacts.
