Handwritten lyrics by David Bowie were auctioned on Tuesday for 89,000 pounds, the equivalent of more than 102,000 euros. The BBC. The British auction house Omega Auctions had estimated in advance that the proceeds would be between 50,000 and 100,000 pounds.
It is a paper with notes and corrections for the numbers on both sides Rock ‘n’ Roll Suicide in Suffragette City. The songs are on Bowie’s famous album The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars from 1972.
According to the auction house, the original owner was given the magazine and some other lyrics in the studio to prepare the lyrics that would be printed on the inside of the record sleeve. The page was previously on display for many years in the Victoria and Albert Museum in London.
The British singer died in 2016 at the age of 69 from liver cancer.
