Chinese company donates more than 500 books to Egyptian university

CAIRO, Nov. 28 (Xinhua) — Chinese petrochemical giant Sinopec donated more than 500 books to the Sino-Egyptian University on Monday.

These books, in Chinese, Arabic, Chinese-Arabic and Chinese-English languages, cover the fields of traditional Chinese medicine, Chinese culture, finance, economics, management, online marketing and Chinese language teaching.

This year marks the 10th anniversary of the start of the Belt and Road Initiative and both China and Egypt are natural partners in jointly building the initiative, said Lu Chunsheng, minister counselor at the Chinese embassy in Egypt, during the ceremony. delivery at the Sino-Egyptian University in Cairo.

Wei Dong, head of Sinopec’s Africa Representative Office, said that in the past two decades, Sinopec has maintained active cooperation in the energy and chemical industries with Egypt, as well as fulfilling its corporate social responsibility.

Through the books, Sinopec is committed to working with the Sino-Egyptian University to promote Sino-Egyptian cultural exchanges, enhance mutual understanding and increase bilateral cooperation in both traditional and new energy, Wei said.
