Get to know the Hantavirus that emerged in China and its differences from the Corona Virus

Before the world community had finished fighting COVID-19, Hantavirus had caused one man in China to die on March 23 2020. The man was a bus passenger whose name was not revealed, and came from Yunna province. He was on a work trip to Shandong.

“He tested positive for #hantavirus. 32 other passengers also underwent tests,” wrote a report in the Global Times as quoted by the NY Post.

Dr Sumaiya Shaikh explained that world citizens do not need to panic about Hantavirus. This virus does not spread like COVID-19. This virus does not spread through humans.

“Don’t panic, unless you plan to eat rats,” he said.

The United States Disease Control Agency (CDC) says Hantavirus is very rare, but the mortality rate is 38 percent.
