As expected, cooling a chipset with four high-performance cores is a difficult task. In the maximum performance test, as one tester posted, the performance of the octa-core processor dropped to 46% of its performance in just two minutes due to overheating.
As shown in the test, the processing speed of four of the cores was reduced to 1.2 GHz, three to 1.5 GHz, and one to only 0.6 GHz, and this is compared to the real processing speed, one Cortex-X4 core with a frequency of 3.25 GHz, and three Cortex-X4 cores. With a frequency of 2.85 GHz, and four Cortex-A720 cores with a frequency of 2 GHz.
Just for comparison, a phone equipped with the second generation Snapdragon 8 processor, the most prominent competitor to the leading MediaTek processors, usually reaches about 80% of its performance after more than 10 minutes of testing the maximum CPU speed.
The maximum processor speed test is designed to run all cores at maximum capacity to see how the phone handles maximum stress, given that the Vivo X100 Pro does not have liquid cooling, like most other flagship phones.
Thus, you can expect better performance from a device with better liquid cooling and fans, especially in gaming phones.
