Nanny McPhee’s new carers are surprised when they see the black and white cat for the first time.
The four-year-old kitten’s muzzle is adorned with a rather huge nose.
However, after a veterinary examination it is clear: Nanny McPhee’s huge nose is more than just that!
A magical character
Nanny McPhee comes into the care of the Cats Protection Adoption Center in Warrington, Cheshire, England due to her owner’s poor health.
Of course, the nursing staff immediately notice her big nose. The kitten lovingly owes its name to the character of the nanny with magical abilities from the film of the same name.
Nanny McPhee from the film also has some strange deformities on her face, but they gradually disappear.
However, the nanny cat’s nose doesn’t disappear. Rather, it turns out to actually be two noses – which is truly unique!
Abnormalities such as a cleft lip or cleft palate are more common, but…
“We have never had a cat with two noses,”
says veterinarian Fiona Brockbank and continues:
“It’s really rare and luckily it doesn’t cause her any problems at all.”
Small flaw, big celebrity
The reason for the two noses is probably a congenital defect. However, this small flaw does not detract from Nanny McPhee’s cuddly character.
The shelter employees have already fallen in love with the special cat and simply cannot take their eyes off her sweet nose.
“She has proven herself to be a gentle lady who enjoys a bit of excitement and cuddles and we are hopeful that her newfound celebrity will bring her more potential adoptive families so she can find her footing and become the center of a loving family.”,
wishes the manager of the animal shelter Lindsay Kerr.
She also assures that Nanny McPhee, like all of the shelter’s cats, will be naturally sterilized before she is allowed to move into her new home.
This prevents her from passing on her little “mistake”.
Whoever gives Nanny McPhee a forever home can be sure that they have acquired a very special and cuddly family member.
