Hundreds of shares and comments were garnered by a video on social media whose publishers claimed to be of a dog burying its cubs after they were killed as a result of the Israeli bombing in Gaza.
However, the claim is incorrect, as the video has nothing to do with Gaza and it is in fact. The video shows a dog digging up the ground and appearing to bury a puppy in the dirt.
The accompanying comments stated, “In Gaza, even animals bury their young as a result of the Israeli bombing,” garnering hundreds of shares on Instagram.
However, the claim that the video was filmed recently in Gaza is incorrect.
A search for it through search engines showed the original version of it posted on a TikTok account on December 2, 2022, which denies that it is recent as the publications claimed.
The accompanying comment read, “Glory be to God, a dog buries her son.”
In the video, the GTP logo belonging to Entreprise Nationale de Grands Travaux Pétroliers appears on the clothes of one of the workers. The same slogan appears at a demonstration by the company’s workers.
The account holder appears to work as a bulldozer driver in Algeria and usually posts video clips of his work, such as this video in which a truck belonging to the Algerian company Tersam Industrial Vehicles appears.
