Customer goes viral when showing TVs sold on Black Friday for the same price as before and store responds

The video posted by user DeJay Downey on TikTok has reached more than 39 million views showing the label of two TV sets. In one of them, the price of US$649.99 is indicated on the Black Friday label. When removing the sign, however, Downey found a sign with the same price.

According to New York Post, a Target spokesperson said the TVs “were on sale previously as part of our early Black Friday sales. We continue to offer these items at the same discount during Black Friday, but have updated signage to reflect the extended deadline.”

According to the spokesperson, customers would save between US$20 and US$60, in both cases, on the actual price of the devices.

The video attracted more than 60 thousand comments, including from Brazilians, who compared the situation to what happens in some local stores. The most liked ones say: “the foreigners discovering how Black Friday works in Brazil”, “People thinking it was only in Brazil” and “they don’t even try anymore”.
