Fiber optic expansion – Kabelplus expands cable network in Loosdorf

The company Kabelplus acquired the cable network of Bauer GmbH & Co KG in Loosdorf in September 2023. The cable network is now being gradually integrated, modernized and expanded into the high-performance fiber optic cable network from kabelplus. The company’s employees will also be taken on. Kabelplus can therefore provide around 3,200 households and businesses in Loosdorf and Pöchlarn as well as Groß-Sierning, Markersdorf-Haindorf, Hafnerbach, Golling, Krummnussbaum, Klein-Pöchlarn and Ornding with ultra-fast internet and high-resolution television.

The affected customers have already been informed by a personal letter from kabelplus and kept up to date about the next steps. From spring 2024, speeds of up to 1000 Mbit/s will be possible. In addition, customers will benefit from time-shifted television, more than 130 digital TV and radio programs including HD TV, as well as affordable complete packages for television, Internet and landline telephony.

“The integration into our high-performance network ensures the quality of the existing connection for the residents of the affected communities and lays the foundation for further innovations,” explains Gerhard Haidvogel, Managing Director of kabelplus. “We are pleased that our products – Magic TV, broadband internet, mobile and landline telephony as well as business solutions – will be fully available from spring 2024,” emphasizes Wolfgang Schäffer, Managing Director of kabelplus.

Loosdorf SPÖ Mayor Thomas Vasku von Loosdorf is also happy for his citizens: “With kabelplus we were able to find a high-performance, reliable partner for our community. This gives us access to the most modern digital infrastructure. This increases the competitiveness, innovative strength and quality of life in our region for future generations.”
