The Immunization area of the Health Secretariat of the Municipality of La Banda will carry out an awareness campaign on the importance of ensuring that all school-age boys and girls have their vaccines up to date, in accordance with the National Vaccination Calendar, to preparing for the next school year.
It is important that before the start of classes, children have their vaccination schedule complete. All vaccines recommended by the National Calendar are safe, free and mandatory, and can be administered in health centers without the need for a medical prescription.
For boys and girls between 5 and 6 years old, three fundamental vaccines stand out: the Sabin (against poliomyelitis), the Triple Viral (protection against measles, rubella and mumps), and the Triple Bacterial (which addresses diphtheria, tetanus and whooping cough).
Likewise, at age 11, a series of essential vaccines are recommended, including the Acellular Triple Bacterial, Hepatitis B, and the Triple Viral. For preteens, the importance of receiving the Human Papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine to prevent cervical cancer is highlighted.
The Ministry of Health calls on the community to take advantage of this opportunity to guarantee the health of the youngest and contribute to a safe and protected return to school.
