With a total budget of 47 million euros, this state system aims to “encourage the emergence of collective initiatives, in order to structure a local cultural and creative entrepreneurial ecosystem, by seeking to build or consolidate clusters organized around innovative cultural businesses, cultural venues, associations, establishments training, research, and local authorities“. The Cité du design of Saint-Etienne is one of the 25 winners selected from the 138 applications. This is a first step which was reached with a grant of 75,000 euros from the Banque des Territoires (Caisse des Dépôts group). This will be followed in spring 2024 by a call for projects intended, again, to support territorial centers in the field of design professions in particular.
