DEPOK, KOMPAS.com – The Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) hopes that the political parties (parpol) that are members of the coalition supporting Anies Baswedan-Muhaimin Iskandar (AMIN) will also reject the move of the country’s capital.
Meanwhile, PKS stated that it rejected the move of the capital from DKI Jakarta to the National Capital (IKN) of the Archipelago on Kalimantan Island.
“Hopefully this will eventually become the idea of a coalition party,” said PKS President Ahmad Syaikhu at the “PKS National Campaign Kick Off: Road to Final 2024” event in Depok, West Java, Sunday (26/11/2023).

The PKS president said he would communicate the idea of refusing to move the capital to other political parties in the AMIN coalition.
In this way, the rejection of relocating the capital city advocated by PKS can be used as a pivot idea in the Change Coalition.
“We are sounding with the coalition parties and also with the presidential and vice presidential candidates. I think we will find a common ground for us to come up with a common idea,” said Syaikhu.
Meanwhile, presidential candidate number 1 Anies Baswedan said that Indonesia needs equitable growth. However, equality does not involve development in only one area.
Anies conveyed this in response to journalists’ questions regarding PKS’s idea of refusing to move the national capital from DKI Jakarta to IKN Nusantara in Kalimantan.
“What is needed in Indonesia today is equitable growth. Where development is carried out not just in one location, but in many locations,” said Anies when met after the event on Sunday afternoon.

Anies reminded that development in one area should not cause inequality in other areas.
For this reason, Anies and his vice presidential candidate, Muhaimin Iskandara (Cak Imin) have developed an equitable development program in all provinces in the country.
“Don’t let us build only in one location which will actually create new inequality. This is our vision and we are all preparing a program to be able to encourage villages to develop, small towns to become medium, medium ones to become large throughout Indonesia,” said Anies.
“We believe that the budget allocation that is usually prepared only for one place needs to be done for many places,” he said.
