Russian Investigative Committee initiates criminal case against Meta for failure to block Ukrainian users calling for violence

The “Mediazona” publication states that on March 11, 2022, the Investigative Committee, in accordance with this article, initiated a criminal case against the “Meta” company – for the company’s decision not to block Ukrainian users for messages in which they called for “killing Russian invaders”. This decision was announced by Stone, who was the representative of “Met”.

“We have temporarily allowed forms of political expression that routinely violate our rules, including violent rhetoric such as ‘death to the Russian invaders.’ We will not tolerate calls for violence against Russian civilians,” he said.

At the same time, Russian authorities blocked the company’s Facebook and Instagram, and Meta itself was recognized as an “extremist” organization.
