Nina Ozuch made her dream come true at the beginning of November by participating in the New York marathon. She finished the race in 3h 05″ 13′ which ranked her 827th out of 51,195 participants, 144th woman out of 22,776 but above all 3rd French out of 640!
She states: “It’s very difficult to put all this into words… Nothing is strong enough to describe this race. I have never felt such emotions: the exhaustion, the difficulties, the pain were very quickly forgotten. I was so proud to have been able to finish this race!” Memories rush through his head like: “The participants are accompanied to the starting line, in front of the Verrazano Bridge, by volunteers and soldiers, under tons of encouragement. The American national anthem is sung a cappella, followed by the cannon blast announcing the start.”
She adds : “During the entire journey, I was supported by my family, my friends and my club. I was certain that it was a collective victory”.
Nina Ozuch has been part of the Athlé Pézenas 34 club for two and a half years and trains with her coach, Rachid Esmouni who prepared her for this marathon. “It was three months of training, while adapting to my work, to the slightest worries or ailments that continued to present themselves during this preparationexplains the young woman. Three intense months which bore fruit”.
The 29-year-old young athlete is a nurse in the emergency room of Sète hospital and mother of a little girl over 3 years old.
