Line 137, which provides support, guidance and support to victims of family and sexual violence, answered 22,769 calls in the first 10 months of this year, according to a report released by the National Directorate for Promotion and Strengthening Access to Justice.

As detailed, from January to October, 8,761 calls related to the issue of family and sexual violence and 14,008 requesting legal advice on access to justice were answered to 137, which operates free of charge 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. .

In its operational function, Line 137 directs messages towards two options: queries related to requests for help due to episodes of family and sexual violence, grooming and sexual exploitation of girls, boys and adolescents or legal ones for violation of rights and difficulties in accessing justice.

There were 7,516 who reported acts of family violence and 2,720 of sexual violence. Of those 10,236 victims, 6,385 are women and transgender women, representing 62.3%

Of the total of 8,761 relevant telephone calls, 6,016 were referred to family violence and 2,745 to sexual violence. However, the number of victims is higher, as more than one was recorded in each case and there were 10,236 victims.

Regarding the calls for consultations on access to rights, between January and October 2023, it was noted that there were 14,008 to Line 137.
