53-year-old Lauren Sanchez and 59-year-old Jeff Bezos have set their sights on their future together.
In May of this year, the owner of “Amazon” proposed to his beloved with a ring with a huge pink diamond, which is probably visible from space and has already been repeatedly captured by the long lenses of the paparazzi, who all summer were like the shadow of the rich couple and did not miss to capture every moment of the long vacation they took sailing on Bezos’s massive yacht, the Coru.
Bezos’ evolution, from a shy, more rounded online bookseller to an industry titan and the world’s third-richest person, has been stunning. Once living away from the media spotlight and creating a tight and healthy cocoon around Amazon and his family, today the businessman seems to have torn his protective shell, no longer the CEO of Amazon (a role he stepped down in 2021). and his family nest is empty. However, his gaze is already directed in another direction – to the Cosmos.
Lauren Sanchez seems to be the perfect match for this new guy – unbridled in her enthusiasm, but also socially savvy and thoughtful. “Lauren has incredible intuition, she has almost witch powers. She sees things that other people don’t. She’s really very sensitive to other people and what they think.”Bezos shares.
“She’s the spark in Jeff’s life. They’re very much in love with each other. She turns him on in the best way, she’s a great stimulant.” says Barry Diller, who with his wife Diane von Furstenberg are among Bezos’ best friends. Those close to Sanchez see a change in her, too, since she and Jeff have been together. Her sister is adamant that Lauren’s happiness with her new lifestyle is making her more relaxed every day.

“She really helped me put more energy into my relationships with people. She’s always encouraging me, ‘Call your kids. Call your father. She called her mother.” She herself is a very good role model because she relates to people,” says the billionaire.
Sanchez also clearly adores the more extroverted Bezos. “He is the life of the party, extremely enthusiastic and funny,” the exotic brunette praises him.
Jeff proposes to her in early summer, hiding the beautiful diamond ring under the pillow. “When I opened the box, I think I got a little black,” recalls the former TV host. Although they have not yet decided when and what the wedding will be, one thing is certain – Lauren will bear the name of her husband and can no longer wait to introduce herself as “Mrs. Bezos”.
In January 2019, the couple hit the front page of the tabloids when their love affair was made public by the National Enquirer. Both Bezos and Sanchez have since finalized their divorces, and today they are looking forward and up into space together.

Lauren attended Blue Origin’s first crewed flight to space in 2021 with Bezos on board. “They were making jokes in the capsule while I was literally crying holding his mother’s hand.” shares the Latina. The billionaire also notes the emotion he felt seeing his entire family outside to see him and his brother off on a light flight: “It’s a deep feeling because you can see how much you are loved by so many people.”
The future Mrs. Bezos also plans to embark on a similar space experience next year, filling the “New Shepard” capsule with “five remarkable women,” though she is still keeping their names under wraps. Until that happens, however, she will be content with piloting a helicopter, for which she obtained a permit a few years ago, with the enormous support of her beloved man.
The apartment complex where the future Bezos family lives is a series of buildings clustered around a two-story residence with wide floor-to-ceiling windows, built next to a swimming pool made to look like a pond with rocky shores. It’s also where everyone gathers for Thanksgiving – over 30 families and friends. Among them are the children and relatives of the billionaire, as well as the family, children and in some cases ex-partners of Sanchez with their partners.
“Our life is quite normal. Everyday life mostly revolves around our children.” shares the brunette. She and Jeff have an agreement that whoever gets up first in the morning has to make coffee for the other. The engaged couple also try to train together.
“But we can’t do the same exercises. He’s on a whole different level than me, he’s a monster in the gym.”, explains the bride-to-be. Bedtime is 9:30 p.m., with a bit of TV before that.
Lauren is one of those women who likes to help and does so at every opportunity. However, her desire to donate has taken on new dimensions since meeting Bezos. She is particularly focused on the environmental work of the Bezos Earth Fund, a $10 billion commitment to climate solutions; The Bezos Academy, which is a network of free preschools; and the “Courage and Civility Award,” which awards $100 million to selected individuals to distribute the winnings as they see fit. “Lauren wakes up thinking about how to help people,” says Elsa Collins, co-founder of This Is About Humanity, an organization supporting separated and reunited families at the US-Mexico border, which recently received $1 million from Sanchez.
In August, the brunette went to Tijuana with her three children to cut zucchini in the utility kitchen and hand out backpacks filled with toys and essentials labeled by age and gender.
Sanchez is unfazed by the question of how he reconciles his own carbon footprint with his environmental work. “I think Jeff and I are really focused on the long-term climate commitment and we’re extremely optimistic about that. Ten billion is just the beginning,” explains the Latina. She says they also use environmentally friendly jet fuel whenever possible and that the Koru can only sail on wind power. “We did it and it’s magical”she adds.
Lauren was recently honored for her philanthropic work at the This Is For Humanity Gala held at the end of the summer. “As a little girl, I never thought I’d be up here.”Sanchez said in his speech at the time.
The former TV host spent her childhood in Albuquerque (she and Bezos were born in the same hospital six years apart). After her parents’ separation, she was raised mainly by her grandmother, who worked two jobs. Every morning the two got up at 5 o’clock to get in the car – Lauren would sleep in the back seat and her grandmother would go clean the houses. After that, they went to a restaurant where the elderly woman was the manager, and her granddaughter was getting ready for school in the toilet of the restaurant.

At school, Lauren didn’t have it easy, as undiagnosed dyslexia made it difficult for her to cope with the lessons. Seeing this, her grandmother decided to teach her everything she thought a woman should know: how to cook, how to clean a house and how to sew. Unable to afford department store dresses, Sanchez sewed her own clothes, including her red ball gown with puff sleeves. “So fashion has always been a fun thing for me.” Latin explains.
Because of her dyslexia, Lauren did not see a chance to develop as a reporter, which was her dream, so she turned to her other passion – aviation. However, at her interview for a job as a flight attendant, she was turned down because, according to the team, she was “too large” for such a job, even though she was only 5 kilograms over the norm. This provoked her to turn her attention to journalism again.
At 19, she enrolled at El Camino College, where her radio journalism professor helped her overcome her dyslexia. “I’ve taught thousands of students, but Lauren was memorable because she seemed so excited. She knew exactly what she wanted to do.” says Lori Medigovich, who is helping Sanchez move to USC on scholarship.

Arguably the Latina’s most serious appearance in her television career was on Fox 11’s Good Day LA, which she co-hosted for six years. Because of his work, he gets up at 4:30 a.m. every morning and goes home to pick up his son Niko from school.
Appearances on “So You Think You Can Dance,” “Larry King Live,” “The Joy Behar Show,” and more followed. Today, she has replaced her TV career with philanthropy and charity.
As for her personal life, it is also no less interesting. Her first serious relationship was with host Rory Markas, whom she met while doing an internship at a TV channel in Los Angeles. They become engaged, but she leaves him after finding a new job.
Next came a relationship with NFL player Anthony Miller, whom they met in 1996 during the SuperBowl when he played for the Denver Nuggets. They were together for 4 years, one of which they were engaged, but eventually broke up. According to Miller, the reason is her infidelity, which, however, her relatives deny, explaining that he was not faithful to her.
Sanchez began a relationship with soccer player Tony Gonzalez, with whom her son Nico was born. After the end of their relationship, the Latina married the agent Patrick Whitesell, from whom she had two children – son Evan and daughter Eleanor. Their marriage lasted until 2019, with their separation taking place after news of her relationship with Jeff Bezos hit the media.
