Blitz by Non una Di Meno at Rai Headquarters: International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women

Blitz by Non una Di Meno at the Rai headquarters in Viale Mazzini on the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women.

“Our pain is your share”, the writing sketched by the activists at the entrance. And a banner in his hands that says “shame”.

Around 9.30 a group of about ten people gathered in front of the Rai, pointing the finger at the “media violence” carried out by the company. After a short while the women were stopped by the police.

Five feminist and transfeminist activists, with fuchsia hoods and the large white banner with the words “shame”, were taken to the Prati police station by the officers to be identified.

The demonstration, a few hours before the big procession at the Circus Maximus, as Non una di meno explains on its social channels, was created to “sanction media violence, one of the many forms of media violence. We attack the Rai headquarters as a government symbol, in opposition to the Meloni government which thinks it can respond to gender violence with security, racist and sex-phobic acts”.

“This is also why we will take part in the national procession, to free ourselves together from the violence of patriarchy and the violence of the narratives that produce and reproduce this system. Because we want to talk about ourselves, but we want to do it alive and free”, explain the activists.
The protest against the spectacularization of violence, as mentioned, ended with the arrival of the police. “The people present were taken to the police station. We want freedom”, write the activists of Non una di meno.
