Ozzy Osbourne Left ‘Virtually Paralyzed’ After ‘Drastically’ Botched Back Operation

Ozzy Osbourne has been left “virtually paralyzed” by a “drastically” botched back operation, the 74-year-old rock singer told the music magazine Rolling Stone.

During surgery on his back due to a fall in 2019, doctors found a tumor in his spine. “It was a real blow. The second operation went drastically wrong and left me virtually paralyzed,” says Osbourne.

The rock star thought he would be “back on his feet” after all the surgeries. “But during the last one they put a rod in my spine. They found a tumor in one of the vertebrae, so they had to dig that all out too. It’s quite tough.”

Osbourne was also unable to collect the Icon Award at the Rolling Stone UK Awards in London on Thursday. This was what his wife Sharon did. The singer was previously more optimistic about his recovery. In September he was working on a new album. He said in an interview with NME that he wanted to perform again in 2024.

Osbourne was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease twenty years ago.
