Struggling Factory Faces Potential Closure – 1992 Historical Archive Included

Ukraine, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, not to mention Russia, are interested in the factory’s products. The whole misfortune is that the production is mainly sold for Russian rubles, which are currently exchanged for “rapeseeds” at a very low rate – three to one.

The factory sold production for almost 76 million rubles. If they are exchanged at the current rate, then only enough will be left to clear four months of back wages. After that, the factory can be closed, because it will be completely without funds.

The answer was evasive: not being able to say it unequivocally. First of all, we would like to solve a whole series of problems, for example, providing the boiler house of the Building Materials and Structures Combine with fuel, taking over heating networks from some resort owners, settlements with consumers for the previous months.

This is important, of course, but why do we keep paying for what we don’t get?

(..) It was not even possible to take a bath on holidays. The water temperature reached only 30 degrees. The attendant answered that, unfortunately, everything depends on the heating plant, which supplies steam with reduced pressure.
