The PP demands the urgent commissioning of the storm ponds

The PP of Villaviciosa has demanded the urgent commissioning of the storm ponds. Through a press release, they point out that the tender took place in 2017 with an execution period of 21 months. “We find ourselves seven years later waiting for them to come into operation, and that is why we consider that action must be urgent and a priority,” the ‘popular’ have lamented.

They have explained that they have presented a motion in this regard in a municipal commission to demand that the Government of the Principality of Asturias put the ponds into operation, but the municipal government would have said that it does not see the urgency motivated and would have rejected its debate in the next plenary session. .

From the PP they consider that the municipal corporation “must defend the interests of the neighbors” and urge the Principality to put the storm ponds into operation “once and for all.”

“The neighbors are tired of unfulfilled promises, of deadlines being extended and no one assuming responsibilities. They have been announcing the inauguration and completion of the works since 2019 and the sad reality is that currently the work has not been received and the storm ponds continue without coming into operation”, they have criticized.

“Doesn’t the municipal government consider it urgent? It should explain it to the residents who are suffering from the floods and they should stop blaming it,” they added.
