Brasileirão Update: Botafogo’s Draw and Palmeiras’ Lead, Flamengo’s Victory

This Thursday, Botafogo lost points again in the Brasileirão, this time with a draw at Fortaleza (2-2), ceding the isolated leadership of the championship to Abel Ferreira’s Palmeiras. Fogão started the match badly and after 8 minutes they were already losing 1-0, thanks to Yago Pikachu’s goal. An own goal by Brítez at 20′ left everything tied but, still in the 1st half, Guilherme gave Fortaleza the advantage again (41′). In the final minutes (78′), Danilo made the result 2-2. This draw leaves Palmeiras in the isolated lead of the Brasileirão, with 62 points, one more than Botafogo (61). Verdão, it should be noted, enters the field on Sunday, also away from home against Fortaleza. All teams currently have 34 matches played.

Pedro Caixinha’s Bragantino had a different fate, who this morning was defeated by Tite’s Flamengo, 1-0. The only goal of the match was scored by Uruguayan Arrascaeta, in the 75th minute.
