Controversial Statements by Barbara Nowak, Head of Education Department in Lesser Poland Voivodeship: Outrage from the Swedish Embassy and Accusations of Spreading False Information

Nowak, who has been overseeing schools in the Lesser Poland Voivodeship since 2016, is closely associated with the national conservative Law and Justice party that currently rules in Poland.

She has also previously been accused of spreading false information. Last year, Novak declared that vaccines against the coronavirus Covid-19 are an “experiment” with untested consequences. This drew condemnation from Poland’s education and health ministers.
