ANTARIKSA — On November 23 2015, the Blue Origin rocket made a historic landing. Previously, all rockets could only be used once, including SpaceX rockets. Blue Origin then changed the concept of space forever.
After successfully launching the New Shepard capsule into space, the rocket began heading back to Earth. It flew towards the landing pad, started its engines to slow down, and landed gently on the ground.
This was the first vertical landing in history. The space world was shocked by the success of this new innovation.
This achievement means a rocket can be reused for various missions, thereby saving money and reducing waste. Currently, SpaceX is most famous for landing its Falcon 9 rocket.
