International Conference on Raising Entrepreneurship in Higher Education: Turība University and SPINTeams Project

On November 29, Turība University of Business organizes an international conference on raising the level of entrepreneurship in higher education, gathering higher education experts, budding entrepreneurs and start-ups from Latvia, Spain, Italy, Austria and Croatia for a discussion.

During the conference, participants will be able to learn how to support entrepreneurship at their university, get learning materials to train their students and researchers, gain insight into joining entrepreneurship support ecosystems, as well as receive tips and tools for successful mentoring and international cooperation.

“Higher education institutions are an important player in the business ecosystem because they have access to the talent, innovation and potential to create, promote and support entrepreneurship. As knowledge centers, they provide an environment that promotes the creation of new ideas and innovations, which can lead to new companies and economic growth,” emphasizes Ieva Bruksle, a lecturer at the Business Management Faculty of Turība University of Business Administration, SPINTeams project expert.

The conference is organized by the Turība Business School together with international project partners, the conference will take place online on November 29 at 10.00, participation is free and interested parties are invited to register here.

The conference is held within the SPINTeams project. Its purpose is to improve entrepreneurship and business skills of young and potential entrepreneurs from universities involved in the project partnership. Support existing and planned Spin-off and Start-up companies of these entrepreneurs to achieve long-term and growing business.

Turība University of Business, University of Graz from Austria, Oberta de Catalunya University from Spain, Bari Aldo Moro University from Italy and chambers of industry and commerce from Latvia, Spain, Italy, Austria and Croatia participated in the project. In order to promote entrepreneurship support ecosystems in higher education institutions, two manuals have been created – on the creation of the entrepreneurship ecosystem, on monitoring and mutual learning methodology. They provide a comprehensive guide to creating and developing a business environment.

Both of these guides are freely available for use by anyone from start-ups and universities to policy makers and can be viewed on the website: www.spinteams.eu.
