Actress Dana Klášterecká-Hradiláková died on Tuesday at the age of 94. The artist was associated with the Zlín theater scene throughout her life. In recent years, she has also established herself on television, when she shone in episodic roles in popular series such as Policie Modrava, Ordinace v rozágárdena or Doktoři z Pócátků.
The meritorious actress Dana Klášterecká-Hradiláková was loyal to the Zlín theater scene all her life. Since 1958, she has played an incredible 110 roles in the then Workers’ Theatre, today’s Zlín City Theatre.
Sad news announced the Zlín theater where she spent her entire life and was involved in its organization in recent years. “Danuška was an avid reader until the last moment. I drove the programs of all our productions to her in Prague and she read them very carefully. She still watched our theater with love and passion,” her acting colleague Jana Tomečková remembered her for the theater website. Memorable roles on the “boards that mean the world” included the characters of Helena in Čapkov RUR or Liza Doolitleová in the famous Pygmalion.
Although she retired from the theater in 1986, she continued to shine in her later years in episodic roles in films and series. She appeared, for example, in the film Vybijená or Krásno. She also played the roles of grandmothers in the series Policie Modrava, Ordinace v rozá žárdeni or Doktoři z Pócátků. She also played an important role in the series The Greatest of the Pierots. After the Velvet Revolution, she also established herself in dubbing. She regularly lent her voice mainly to characters from TV detective stories.
