After the EC increased the Ukrainian aid ceiling from EUR 250,000 to EUR 280,000, the Ministry of Agriculture sent a notification. After its receipt from Brussels, a decision will be made by the Management Board of the State Fund “Agriculture” to amend the guidelines in relation to the new threshold.
More on the topic: The implementation of the Ukrainian aid is extended until June 30, 2024.
“For an additional payment under the new ceiling of up to 280,000 euros, we will need BGN 5 million. After the pre-notification and the decision of the Board, within less than a week, the DFZ will pay the amount of the aid,” said Georgi Takhov, Executive Director of the Fund , during a meeting of the Parliamentary Committee on Agriculture.
After the new cap is paid out, the number of producers who have reached it will be 81. More importantly, however, there are still 39 million BGN left from the Ukrainian aid.
“This is money from the central budget. There are about 35-36,000 applicants. The question is whether these BGN 39 million will be paid to them or redistributed in another way. This depends on the decision of the Board of Directors”, Takhov explained.
He is adamant that everyone who applied for this aid and was eligible has already received their money.
What will happen to the rest should be clear by the end of the year, otherwise this money should be returned to the central budget.
