According to the U.S. Geological Survey, CWD was first discovered in Colorado in the late 1960s and has now spread to 31 states and three Canadian provinces. To date, there have been no cases of CWD in humans or other species. It is known that there is currently no vaccine or treatment for CWD. Experts warned that eating deer meat at this time is dangerous.
