Princess Eugenie Opens Up About Media Scrutiny and Psychological Struggles in Podcast Interview

Princess Eugenie suffered in her youth from a lot of media attention for her appearance and choice of clothing. The daughter of British Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson talks in the podcast Table Manners about the psychological problems she was experiencing at the time.

Presenters Jessie and Lennie Ware asked Eugenie how she feels that her outfits and appearance are often the subject of discussion. “I think that has definitely caused some problems,” the 33-year-old princess said of the constant comments about her appearance. “I think everyone has that when they’re in the public eye.”

The princess, who now lives in Portugal with her husband Jack Brooksbank and their two children, is now less bothered by it. “Portugal is great because I can go to the supermarket in a tracksuit and no one will care,” she joked.

The podcast also discussed other topics, such as what it was like to have dinner with her grandmother Queen Elizabeth. Eugenie also talked about her own podcast that she started last year with her friend Julia de Boinville. In Floodlight the princess draws attention to modern slavery.
