The French Institute Alliance Française, FIAF, New York’s leading independent organization for French-speaking culture and the French language, honored actress Carole Bouquet with the 2023 Trophée des Arts and Bruno Pavlovsky, President of CHANEL Fashion and CHANEL SAS with the Golden Pillar 2023. The annual FIAF Arts Trophy Gala recognizes the winners’ contributions to French and American intercultural exchanges in the arts and business, respectively.
The Fiaf Arts Trophies gala took place at the iconic Plaza Hotel on Wednesday, November 15, 2023. This year, FIAF celebrated its 125th anniversary and honored the 400th anniversary of Versailles with a unique culinary experience prepared by 17-star chef Yannick Alléno and chef Stéphanie Le Quellec, 2 Michelin stars. The gala featured original artwork by Cameroonian artist Pascale Marthine Tayou, and Alexandra Richards hosted the evening’s afterparty at DOUBLES.
A few weeks ago, Tatyana Franck, president of FIAF, spoke to us about this event which is part of the 125th anniversary of the institution: “For this exceptional year, we are going to recreate two historic menus of two American personalities received at Versailles, Rockefeller and Kennedy. These menus will be reproduced with four hands by the starred chefs Yannick Alléno and Stéphanie Le Quellec. We will also recreate the first Trophée des arts which was awarded to Louis Malle in 1992, and created by the sculptor Arman.”

The Arts Trophy Gala breaks records
The Arts Trophy Gala is FIAF’s largest annual fundraiser and is made possible through the generosity of co-chairs, administrators and supporters. This year’s gala welcomed more than 500 guests, the largest number in recent history. One of the highlights of the evening was the live auction which broke all FIAF records, with the highest price ever achieved for a single lot of items.
