Medvedev suspected the US of seeking to establish a “global digital dictatorship”

The United States and Western countries have taken advantage of IT monopolists and launched processes that threaten the world with a “global digital dictatorship,” said the chairman of the United Russia party, deputy chairman of the Security Council, Dmitry Medvedev, during a meeting of the organizing committee of the Forum of Supporters of the Fight against Modern Practices of Neocolonialism.

“The USA decided to take advantage of the fact that they have registered all the major IT monopolists and social networks. And they launched processes, the logical conclusion of which could be a global digital dictatorship,” Medvedev’s statement quotes RBC.

According to him, we are talking about creating a profitable information agenda, taking into account the dominance of Western companies in the IT sector. “Such unscrupulous methods are used, such as bribery of the media, as well as censorship by American IT giants,” Medvedev added.
