Two more Jeep models are losing their V8 engines, so the eight-cylinder engine is only available in two Jeeps.
The Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer are the next two Jeep models to lose their Hemi V8 engines and switch to six-cylinder units. In the 2024 configurator, the Wagoneer and its extended modification L now offer a 426 hp Hurricane in-line six-cylinder engine, which replaces the previously available 5.7-liter 397 hp V8. The same applies to the Grand Wagoneer, whose three-liter Hurricane promises as much as 517 hp.
A Jeep representative has confirmed that the Hurricane l-6 is standard for the entire Wagoneer family, emphasizing that this engine is up to 15 percent more efficient than the eight-cylinder unit. For fans of Jeep technology and classic V8 engines, there are only two options left to get a Jeep with an eight-cylinder engine. One of them is the model Grand Cherokee L, the other is the Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 392.
