After the presidential elections in Russia in March, Vladimir Putin will order a total mobilization without regard to public opinion in Russia itself. This was stated by the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Oleksiy Danilov, quoted by the UNIAN agency.
“After the March presidential ‘election’, the authoritarian regime in Russia will finally be cemented and the Kremlin will fully deploy its military potential. Russia’s strategic goals are absolutely opposite to Ukraine’s. This is the destruction of the state of Ukraine and the absorption of the Ukrainian ethnic group within the “Russian peace”. The Kremlin will not give up this goal, Putin is preparing for a long war,” Danilov said.
According to Danilov, Russia has been able to adapt to the war and Western sanctions and is now actively pouring funds into its military-industrial complex. He emphasized that Russia has proved more resistant to Western sanctions than expected and its economy is gradually transitioning to a military basis.
“The presidential elections in the Russian Federation on March 17, 2024 are a significant date for the Kremlin. After another enthronement of Putin, the regime will be cemented, essentially hands will be untied. Total mobilization is possible after the presidential elections in 2024. Therefore, Ukraine and the world community have 3-4 months to prepare,” Danilov said.
Danilov stressed that Russia’s future is uncertain, but in its current “imperial guise” it poses a threat to its neighbors, Europe and the world order as a whole. “We believe that the most effective way to prevent repeated aggression is the controlled disintegration of Russia into several parts, which will lead to the fall of the Putin regime, denuclearization and demilitarization,” Danilov said.
