Persebaya Surabaya fired the coach, Josep Gombau, during the international break. Bajul Ijo also loaned Ze Valente to Persik Kediri.
Gombau’s career with Persebaya only lasted six matches. He was brought in to replace Uston Nawawi on 13 September 2023.
The results of Persebaya’s match with Gombau were not good. The Spanish coach led Persebaya to one win, one draw and four defeats. In the last match, Persebaya was beaten by Persik 0-4.
“Thank You Coach Josep Gombau. Persebaya has reached an agreement with Coach Josep Gombau to end the collaboration. Persebaya is grateful for Coach Gombau’s dedication, including bringing Persebaya to win in the match against Arema FC,” wrote the Instagram account @officialpersebaya as seen detikJatimTuesday (21/11/2023).
Besides that, Persebaya also decided to release Ze Valente as a loan player. It has been reported that the Portuguese player will leave, one of which is said to be heading to Arema FC.
“Persebaya, Persik and Ze Valente have reached an agreement to loan the player from Portugal. Persebaya would like to thank Valente for his contribution so far,” wrote the Instagram account @officialpersebaya.
Overall, Ze Valente successfully scored 6 goals and 9 assists in 29 appearances together Persebaya.
On the other hand, Persik has also confirmed Ze Valente’s presence in Kediri. The announcement that the White Tiger Team was bringing in Ze Valente was made via the official Instagram account @persikfcofficial a few minutes ago.
