Drug trafficking: raid in Nîmes – 8 p.m. news | TF1

For hours, in the Nîmes district, the police searched every corner. There could remain narcotics hidden in buildings, in common areas, even inside cellars. The operation known as “Place Nette”, started at six o’clock this November 20 morning. Nearly 250 police officers are mobilized, including the RAID and the BRI. An entire drug trafficking network is targeted, 20 people are arrested. They are aged between sixteen and 43, suspected of being lookouts, sellers, and managers of deal points. At the same time, large quantities of money and drugs were seized, as well as weapons and bulletproof vests. Jean-Philippe Nahon, director of the Departmental Directorate of Public Security, explains that: “The whole difficulty with these networks is that the network heads are not necessarily located in the neighborhoods.” The vast dragnet would therefore only be a step for the Nîmes. Gendarmes will remain as reinforcements until the end of 2023, before the creation of a police station, within the Pissevin district itself. TF1 | Report E. Lefebvre, A. Cazabonne, JV Molinier
