“Yes, I can become the smartest person in the world,” Vincent Voeten begins the episode. “But then the two candidates next to me would have to suffer a brain haemorrhage.” The Kempen comedian has been on the rise in the spotlight since he won the 2021 Humo’s Comedy Cup and before that he took a career break from the police last year. “I don’t miss the job, but I do miss my colleagues,” says the former inspector.
He has now been retired from his corps for a year, but he has retained his service weapon all this time. Remarkable indeed. “They only called last week to ask if I had it lying around, even though I’ve already stopped for a year,” says Voeten. “It wasn’t at home, but it was in my locker at work, but I could still use it. The same goes for the handcuffs.”

Voeten was working at the Hoogstraten police. There he mainly had to deal with issues such as “loose cows,” says the comedian. But here and there it went further. There was that chase of the black Volkswagen. “We were chasing a Volkswagen Golf and an intern was ready with a nail mat,” it sounds. “But he just let the car pass and then threw the mat under our truck. Interns often have difficulty with stressful situations in the beginning.”
Found clothes
Jeroen Leenders in particular made a strong impression in the game. Also on a clothing level. The eccentric comedian appeared on the battlefield with two purple stripes under his eyes. “Conceptual,” he called them. Voeten and De Geest played very well in the final. They both gave five correct answers about D-Day and Raphaël Nadal respectively.
