From this Monday, November 20, 2023, all cases registered in the courts and tribunals in the Republic of Guinea will be postponed due to training of lawyers, we learn.
Contacted by Conakry Infos, Moustapha Mariama Diallo, deputy prosecutor of the Court for the Repression of Economic and Financial Offenses (Crief), indicated that the hearings will resume from next Monday, November 27 at the Crief level.
« Lawyers are in training from Monday to Friday, so if they are in training here, they will not be able to hold hearings, apart from the investigation offices where the assistance of a lawyer is not obligatory, but in other cases, it will then take next week ”, he said
Asked whether this paralysis will affect all jurisdictions in the country, the deputy prosecutor of the Court for the Repression of Economic and Financial Offenses will say this.
« Confirming it in all jurisdictions not because in the courts of first instance, flagrante delicto hearings and others for people who do not have a lawyer, it is possible, it is not in all procedures where there are lawyers », suggested Moustapha Mariama Diallo
This training of lawyers begins this Monday, November 20 and ends Friday, November 24, 2023. And, it will take place in the courtroom of the trial of September 28, 2009, it will focus on several themes linked to the proper functioning of the judicial system in Guinea.
