Reggaeton player Yomil Hidalgo and singer Haila María Mompié decided to join together in a musical collaboration, exclusively to annoy YouTuber Alexander Otaola.
Through social networks, the singers promoted the new song, in which they mention the influencer and make fun of him, calling him a “clown” and “frustrated.”
The new song, Aunt Tata Storytellingpremiered this Friday with everything and a video clip, in which an actor appears doing a kind of satire of the Cuban-American influencer’s program on YouTube.
The reggaeton singer and the salsa singer did not limit themselves at all in their burlesque melody, mercilessly attacking the presenter of El Mañanero, with whom both have had problems and disagreements for several years.
“Look, you talk about me, and I don’t take you into account. The more I ignore you, the more you get hot,” Yomil sings in one part, to which Haila replies:
“You have already dedicated more than 100 direct messages to me, tell me how it feels to not give an answer. (…) Look how you talk about me and I without paying attention to you, the more I ignore you, the more of a fool you are. You remain engrossed while I give way to you. Tell me what it feels like to act as a clown.”
The video was recorded on the Paseo del Prado and other streets in Havana, where both performers appear singing and dancing accompanied by several models and dancers.
Although it only came out this week, it was not a surprise launch, since Yomil had already anticipated the launch by previewing a fragment of the video, which was initially going to be titled Respect.
The truth is that both singers have been under the scrutiny of the influencer on many occasions, due to their relationship with the Cuban dictatorship. Haila for being directly his spokesperson and defender, and Yomil for being “neutral”, while she lives and has business on the Island, denying the oppression of the regime.
Therefore, when at the end of October both announced that they were preparing a musical collaboration together, many already expected that it would be a scam, against the character who has questioned them and also made fun of both.
“Your headaches came together, soon expect this stick with the diva Haila. Thank you for the invitation, mine, let’s make Cuba sing the chorus of Respect”Yomil wrote on his Instagram at the time.
“Super grateful and happy for this collaboration, we have both waited for many years for the perfect song to arrive. Thank you very much, Yomil, for your art, your humility, brotherhood, affection and hospitality,” Mompié wrote for her part.
Although he has never spoken out as an opponent, Many followers of the reggaeton singer criticized him for joining Hailaan open defender of the regime, but he did not hesitate to respond as he has always done.
“For political commentators, remember that this is an artist profile and we are making Cuban music,” he wrote on his Instagram.
