Five states still issue direct payments to their residents in November, a trend that will continue for the remainder of the year. The outlook in the United States tends to maintain the economic aid that so relieves family finances.

In the state of Minnesota, for example, the stimulus check being issued these days amounts to $1,300.00 USD. The aforementioned aid began last August, however, the state authorities in charge stated that there are still around 150 thousand payments that have not been collected. What is the cause? The most striking thing is that all the checks that have not yet been cashed have an upcoming expiration date. The Minnesota Department of Revenue announced that at the end of this month those who have not acquired their money will lose the right to do so.

Distrust

Minnesota tax authorities believe that many checks have not yet been cashed because eligible taxpayers are wary of such help. Many may even have torn up the checks simply because they think they would be scammed with this direct payment. Another theory is that the money has not reached its destination due to problems in the exact address of the recipients, among other factors.

Many of the checks planned for this direct payment were sent between August 16 and September 27 of this year. Their expiration date is 60 days after they were issued, as established by state laws.

If you are eligible and have not yet received your direct payment of up to $1,300.00 USD, you should check your email more frequently. The Department of Revenue announced it will resend checks before the end of November.

Official data reveal that to date more than two million people have already received the direct payment in Minnesota. Eligibility was determined from information contained in the tax year 2021 tax return.
