The potential candidates for the deputy editor-in-chief position at bTV News

Asen Ivanov, the current deputy editor-in-chief of bTV’s “News and Current Affairs,” appears to be the likely candidate for the position that was vacated after Hekimyan entered politics. This version was circulated in the media space on the day when bTV News celebrated its 23rd birthday, “Standart” writes.

Ivanov has considerable experience in the field of television, and even before that he was among those who confronted Hekimyan when they both worked in the media. He also enjoys the support of a large number of his colleagues due to his ability to remain calm in critical situations and make thoughtful and reasonable decisions.

Apart from Ivanov, the management is considering two other candidates for the position – Petar Nanev and Veselina Petrakieva.

Nanev, who began his career in bTV’s sports newsroom, soon returned from Gaza, where he provided exclusive coverage of the Middle East conflict and helped him gain popularity within the media group’s ranks.

Veselina Petrakieva is the editor-in-chief of bTV’s news program and has won the Producer of the Year award four times, but according to some in the media industry, her chances are slimmer.

Recently, the name of Daniel Chipev was also mentioned, who is currently the chief producer of the BNT news programs and is responsible for their content and development.

For almost two decades of journalistic experience, he worked mainly at BNT and Nova TV. He is the co-founder of the innovative show “In the World and in our Country” at 6 p.m. and the only candidate who is not part of the bTV team.

Before that, the name of Victoria Behar appeared, who, together with Lyuba Rizova, shot bTV news to the top of the media rankings and made the greatest contribution to the development of the television’s news teams.
