Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Galant said the Iranian-backed Lebanese terrorist group Hezbollah has fired more than 1,000 munitions into Israel since October 7.

Direct speech: “Iran is the root of hostility and aggression against the State of Israel. The war is multi-front, although its intensity is concentrated in Gaza.”
“Since the beginning of the war, Hezbollah has fired more than 1,000 munitions at Israeli targets, but it itself has suffered much more damage.
We strike missile squads and hit military installations and targets, Hezbollah pays a heavy price every day.”
Details: The minister’s comments came after Hezbollah braved stormy weather on Sunday to launch new rocket attacks and drone attacks on northern Israeli communities, prompting Israeli forces to attack the terror group’s targets in Lebanon.
Galant also said that in the West Bank, “there are many attempts to carry out terrorist attacks against Israelis, which are thwarted daily by the IDF and Shin Bet.”
Background:
- On October 8, Hezbollah said it fired rockets and mortars at Israel “in solidarity” with the Palestinians, and the Israel Defense Forces responded with artillery and drones.
- Israel deployed troops in anticipation of an invasion from Lebanese territory, and the first clashes occurred on the border.
- Lebanese Hezbollah said on October 13 that it is “fully prepared” to join Hamas in the war against Israel when the time comes.
