Rugby: Patrice Collazo, Christian Labit and Vincent Etcheto join the Montpellier Hérault Rugby staff

While the MHR has fallen to the bottom of the Top 14 ranking, the club’s management is reacting to redress the situation. After the appointment of Bernard Laporte as director of rugby this Sunday, November 19, 2023, Mohed Altrad continues to shake up the club’s organizational chart by appointing Patrice Collazo as sports manager.

A sudden decision which allowed the president of the MHR to present the new organizational chart of the club, disrupted by the upcoming arrival of Bernard Laporte, who will take the place of Philippe Saint-André at the head of the rugby department.

According to information Free Midday et South West confirmed by the MHR, the very recently fired from CA Brive – for lack of results – Patrice Collazo will become the new manager of the Montpellier club.

At his side will be the former Soyaux-Angoulêmes Vincent Etcheto, the ex-Carcassonne manager Christian Labit – who became responsible for the Montpellier forwards – and the Toulonnais Louis Carbonel, who also join the staff of Montpellier Hérault Rugby. Antoine Battut would be named sideline coach.

What about the future of Richard Cockerill and Jean-Baptiste Elissalde, former manager and head coach respectively? For the moment their names do not seem to appear among the configuration of the new MHR organization chart carried by Bernard Laporte.
