EURO 2024 Qualifiers Update: Scotland vs Norway, Playoffs and Repechage Preview

The game between Scotland and Norway, this Sunday, is just to meet the schedule – and Haaland, injured in last Thursday’s friendly game against the Faroe Islands, will not go to the field.

With the results of the last few days, the list of teams at the Euros and the playoffs are taking shape. In addition to the host Germany, there are already 16 more classified – those defined on Saturday were the Netherlands, Romania and Switzerland. This Sunday, Serbia also secured a 2-2 draw against Bulgaria.

The last round will define four more places, three of which will be defined in direct clashes this Monday. Ukraine and Italy play in Leverkusen (Germany), with the advantage of a draw for Italy. The Czech Republic will play at home and to a draw against Moldova, who will make history if they win and qualify for their first major tournament. Finally, Slovenia receives Kazakhstan with the advantage of a draw – the Kazakh team is another one that, with a victory, will compete in its first major tournament in history.

Of these, Slovenia and Moldova are the only ones that, if they do not win a place tomorrow, will be completely eliminated. The other four teams (Ukraine, Italy, Czech Republic and Kazakhstan) are guaranteed in the playoff, if they do not have a direct place.

On Tuesday, the last team classified directly will leave group D. Croatia needs a simple victory, at home, against Armenia to play in Euro-2024. If they stumble, the place could go to Wales, if they beat the already guaranteed Turkey.

The design of the repechage, which will be played next year and will give three places, is also taking shape. If the favorites Italy, Czech Republic, Slovenia and Croatia secured their direct places, the playoff would look like this.
