Lawsuit against businessman Boris Arencibia dismissed in Miami

The law firm specializing in intellectual property and entertainment, Pryor Cashman LLP, voluntarily dismissed its lawsuit against Cuban promoter Boris Arencibia and his company Caribe Promotions Inc.

The legal process, initiated in September of this year, accused the Cuban company of unpaid invoices for legal services, and breaches of contract in 2021 and 2022.

According to the Periódico Cubano report, documents located in the Civil, Family, and Probate Courts Online System confirm that on September 28, the plaintiff “voluntarily dismissed this action to the detriment of the defendants Caribe Promotions, Inc. and Boris Arencibia.”

That is, Pryor Cashman LLP withdrew the lawsuit from the Miami court on its own, and the case was closed without Arencibia having to respond.

Other documents, dated September 27, further showed that the plaintiffs also dismissed the complaint formally filed against The Commission Touring LLC, Artie Pabon and Louis Fonseca.

The lawsuit was originally filed by Pryor Cashman LLP, a famous law firm that dates back to 1963 and has offices in major American metropolises, such as New York, Miami and Los Angeles.

The firm accused Caribe Promotions Inc., along with The Commission Touring LLC, Artie Pabon, Boris Arencibia and Louis Fonseca of non-compliance, and according to the record dated September 19, 2023, detailed an outstanding amount of at least $38,622.50, in addition to interest and possible additional repairs.

Arencibia, president and registered agent of Caribe Promotions Inc., is known in Cuban entertainment for his sports and artistic promotion, especially for organizing the Santa María Music Fest in Cuba, and for his association with rapper Daniel Hernández, also known as 6ix9ine or Tekashi, and the Cuban singer-songwriter Lenier Mesa.

The man has had several scandals, including accusations of doing business with the Cuban dictatorship, and having attacked the youtuber Ultrack in a bar in Miamiaccompanied by Lenier Mesa and his bodyguards.

At this time, the specific reasons that led to the “voluntary dismissal” of the lawsuit have not been made known.
