Joseph Koshelevich, Alexandrinsky Theater Actor Known for TV Police Series, Dies at 74

Alexandrinsky Theater actor Joseph Koshelevich, known for his roles in TV series about the police, died at the age of 74. He passed away on November 17, reported theater press service. The cause of death has not been specified. The date of farewell will be announced additionally.

It is noted that the artist devoted almost 35 years of his creative biography to serving the Alexandrinsky stage. Iosif Iosifovich Koshelevich was accepted into the troupe of the State Academic Drama Theater named after Pushkin (as Alexandrinsky was called at that time) in 1989 as a mature master; before that, for 16 years he worked on the stage of the Russian Drama Theater named after Samed Vurgun (Azerbaijan, Baku).

Koshelevich was also remembered by viewers for his work in television series. In the first season of “Streets of Broken Lanterns” he played commercial director Oleg Nikolsky, in the 14th season – the editor-in-chief, in the 15th – the head of the department, in the 16th – Zhovner, reminds RBC.

The actor also starred in the TV series “Deadly Force” (in 2000 he played Colonel Sergei Ivanovich), “Cop Wars – 2” (the role of Anatoly Razumov), “Opera. Chronicles of the Homicide Department” (in the second and third seasons he played a forensic expert), “Liteiny” (played a general).
