Too much work: Birrwil would like to join the regional social service

Menziken had insisted on increasing the supervisory commission for the Oberwynental Regional Social Service (RSDO) to six people. Four were actually planned. Reinach also approved this – even if the change could not really be understood. Item: The new contract (the old one was from 1980), which affects both communities, comes into force on January 1, 2024. This means that the RSDO can now also carry out tasks in the area of ​​child and adult protection for other municipalities.

For example for Birrwil. “Due to the persistently high number of cases in the management of cases for material assistance, alimony and refugee care, the work can no longer be guaranteed by the employees of the Birrwil municipal administration with a 20 percent workload,” says the explanations for the municipal meeting on March 24th. November. The Birrwil social service is therefore to be affiliated to the RSDO on January 1st. The community meeting must approve the service contract, which regulates, among other things, that the community’s services are billed at an hourly rate of 120 francs.

Loans for roads and schools

The residents also have to vote on two loans. The mains water pipe in Oberdorfstrasse is in poor condition; it should be renovated. The same applies to the street itself, as well as a new surface, it should be provided with drainage. And in this context, as the community brochure states, an existing property drainage system should also be connected to the drainage pipe. The local council is applying for a loan of 645,000 francs for this. Also up for debate is the municipality’s share of 16,500 francs for equipping the learners at the aargauSüd district school (ten municipalities) with digital devices.

The municipality’s budget envisages a loss of around 190,000 francs with a constant tax rate of 95 percent.
