Athlete João Lima, who participated in the Seoul 88 Olympic Games, died this Saturday at the age of 62, according to the Portuguese Athletics Federation (FPA).
“It is with tremendous sadness that we realize the passing of João Lima this morning. A great man, who always elevated himself and elevated those around him, which is why he now leaves a void in our community”, reveals the FPA in the released note.
João Lima participated in the 110 meter hurdles discipline at the 1988 Games, having also participated in several world and European events, highlighting the achievements of being the first Portuguese to lower the 14 second barrier in the 110 hurdles (1989) and the eight seconds in the 60 meter hurdles (1985).
