A very famous and well-known brand knows this well, admitting without mincing words that if things aren’t going particularly well it’s the fault of their own choices.

But what actually happened? In this article we will try to understand well and clearly what we are talking about and why the situation is not as rosy as some would have hoped or expected.

Car manufacturer in difficulty: what happened

That a car manufacturer takes its responsibilities is no small thing, and for this we can only congratulate the Rivian. The company in question is already working to find a solution to your problem. But what is it? Simply put, it appears that a software update has gone wrong and has literally blocked the brand’s cars. This was communicated by Wassim Bensaid, vice-president of the Software Engineering department. The statement was published on Reddit. Last Monday, Rivian released the new version of the R1S and R1T software system.

The update fails to install in cars. The screens remain completely dark. Let’s clarify, however, that Rivian cars can be set in motion and they work perfectly. The infotainment system simply remains off. Bensaid explained that the update has been cancelled. Furthermore, he added that “it’s our fault. Thank you for your support and patience.” The rest of the vehicle is operational, although as far as infotainment is concerned the situation evidently seems anything but smooth.

Unfortunately, this is what can happen when a connected car finds difficult-to-manage situations in front of it. It is very important that Rivian admitted the mistake and took responsibility. Now, however, a solution must be found that can define what to do and how to do it in the shortest and shortest time possible. Which, as we can understand from the vice-president’s statements, is not as easy as it may even remotely seem. There’s nothing left to do but wait for better news.
