“Practice early”: With its early support program “Numbers, Money & Happiness”, Volksbank Kraichgau is involved every year in the region’s kindergartens to impart financial education at a young age.
Together with media educators from the ArbeitsKreisNeueMedien (AKNM), the bank’s consultants go to individual kindergartens in the region to conduct workshops on financial education for preschool children. The children learn the value of numbers, how to handle money correctly and that beautiful things don’t always have to cost something.
The mornings are colorful and varied with educational stories as well as rhythmic songs and dances.
With increasing digitalization, the diverse media landscape is also becoming an important part of society. One focus of the workshops is therefore on preparing children for the new media in a timely and age-appropriate manner. Every child can actively participate and try things out.
The early support program “Numbers, Money & Happiness” is financed by the Volksbank Bruchsal-Bretten Foundation. This has been providing social commitment in the region since 2010, particularly in the areas of education, art and culture.
Especially today, in times of increasing over-indebtedness starting in adolescence, financial education is more important than ever. The Volksbank and the Foundation know this. In 2023, the regional cooperative bank and its foundation held 51 workshops with a total of 687 preschool children in the region’s kindergartens.
