830 Cali residents successfully completed their process in the Vínculos: Community Articulation in Movement program, which for three years has brought the arts of the Popular Institute of Culture to the territories.
There were three closing ceremonies that took place at the IPC headquarters in the San Fernando neighborhood, where all the artists, trained during this season, came to demonstrate the knowledge learned on stage.
The main auditorium was decorated for artistic presentations that included: dance, music, theater and plastic arts exhibitions carried out by children, young people, adults and seniors who were part of the process.
“Links, it has been precisely that articulated work where we all contribute so that the arts continue to be that engine, that tool of social transformation, for coexistence, for peace. The possibility also of strengthening life skills and continuing to get much closer to the IPC programs,” explained Carolina Romero Jaramillo, director of the institution.
Actors from different social institutions carried out training and transformation processes seeking environments with values, coexistence in an approach to peace through art in the different communes and townships of the district.
Jhon Jairo Ramírez, library agent in El Hormiguero commented: “the work is articulated with Vínculos del IPC, where children in their free time learn something new and develop their knowledge.”
In the middle of the closing day this Friday (11/17/2023), the little devils of Siloé took the stage, one of the artists was Kimberly Rengifo, a resident of commune 20, “they taught us how to make masks, how to play the drum ; A teacher teaches us capoeira and another teaches visual arts; It is a very nice program.”
Angie Lorena Daraviña, mother of a girl belonging to the program, highlighted the virtues of this IPC strategy: “they take time to be more creative and not be on the streets looking for things that shouldn’t be. We already have the appointment every Saturday and they go. At first there were only a few, but more children have joined and it has been very cool; “They have a good time, they enjoy it.”
The Mayor’s Office of Cali congratulates the cultural groups of the District that were part of Vínculos, a program supported by the Cali United for Life Development Plan, by doctor Jorge Iván Ospina.
