Adimali: BJP leader Suresh Gopi said that he will pay Rs 1600 per month from his MP pension to Maryakutty and Anna Ousep of Adimali, who took to the streets to beg against the suspension of welfare pension. He also alleged that the central share in the welfare pension was not paid because the state gave wrong figures. Suresh Gopi was talking to the media after visiting both of them at Adimali.
Central share of welfare pension was not received because the state submitted wrong figures. Let the Chief Secretary present the correct figures. Suresh Gopi alleged that the same thing happened in the employment guarantee scheme. Two rupees more is charged when petrol is pumped. The Chief Minister had said that this is to provide pension to the poor. Let the Chief Secretary present the account in this regard in the court. How much rupees were collected from two rupees. How much was paid for welfare pension alone? Did you spend anything in exchange for the rest? Let the court direct that the people no longer have to pay this amount, said Suresh Gopi.
At the same time, Maryakutty will approach the court today in the matter related to the false campaign against him. They will file a defamation case in Adimali Munsif Court. Maryakutty will also file a petition in the High Court on Friday regarding the suspension of welfare pension.
Maryakutty (87) and Anna Ousep (80) went on a begging strike in Adimali last week due to delay in getting welfare pension. Later, CPM mouthpiece Desabhimani came out criticizing them. The report said that Maryakutty has one and a half acres of land and two houses, one of which is rented out. Later, the party mouthpiece expressed regret on the issue.
